About

We are familiar with the weekly offering where, through church envelopes, you designate your giving, or the annual giving we make when an ASK comes in the mail, and then there is the giving we give for bake sales, special events or to those in need.  This type of giving is usually from disposable income: your wallet or your bank account.

Legacy giving is more planned, often from assets and usually developed through discussions with another person; you’ll see it referred to as Gift Planning.   Gift Planning reflects giving to the ministries you know will benefit by a larger gift, and so you may consult with your spouse or your financial advisor to provide your ideal legacy gift.

Canadian Baptists in Western and Central Canada provide you an exciting and free LEGACY forMinistryTM programme, which may be just what you need for your Estate and Will Planning.  Use our workbook to help with the details needed to: draft a current will, select an executor, minimize taxes, decide your beneficiaries, explore a charitable gift to ministry, and benefit your heirs.
